You don’t need me to tell you have exciting the men’s 400 meter freestyle was last night. I’m just glad I turned the tv on at the right time–just in time to see the whole race (in high-def) and Lezak make an unbelievable finish in the water. I loved it, especially since the French swimmers had supposedly talked some smack about beating the Americans. It seemed impossible for us to win until about the last 1/4 of the race.
This is the first time I’ve gotten excited about the olympics since Barcelona in ‘92. I think I’ll see how water polo is going now.
Couldn’t agree more. I hate most Olympic sports . . . especially since we don’t have the USSR to beat up on. But sticking it to a bunch of mouthy frenchmen dressed in wet spandex certainly raised my interest level in the quadrennial dog and pony show.
Thomas, good to hear from you. You’ve always had such a way with words. I’m with you buddy.
I agree with you Thad, it was such a good race. Phelps has me addicted to all of the men’s swimming (not just because of the way he looks in a speedo!).
He’s dominating the pool, and I can only imagine how pissed off the frenchmen (and chinese, for that matter) are having to listen to our national anthem every medal ceremony.
How dware yuu inzult Fwance in suuuch a mannur! Vive la Fwance wun day you will all bow to the majestic powerzs and military might of the worldz onli supwa powerrrrr…
It is cuusstum…to how you say…talk de smack…dis is a sign of de love that we have for you crazzzeeee Americanz. Besides our accents are sooo sexy…and your woman melt in the presence of our unwashed, au-natural smelling bodies.
Remember were it not for Fwance you peoples would have been completely bored in the early 1940’s.
