Tyson Foods in Shelbyville, TN has given in to their muslim workforce and traded Memorial Day for a muslim holiday, which falls in October this year. “This is America and we celebrate Labor Day”, or that’s what I would tell everyone if I were in charge. Tyson is taking what Barack Obama apparently said about our nation not being a Christian nation, but a nation of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, and Muslims (I haven’t verified Obama actually said this, but I’ll just go with it) to heart. Read the article and I hope it fires you up like it does me. And this happened in Tennessee, which is really a disgrace. But, this also goes to show that I don’t see any good coming from unions these days. Cheyenne, I know you agree.

I’m with you Thad. This is a disgrace. If I were in charge I would force them to take a Christmas Holiday.
Judging from this article there seems to be a fine line between being culturally aware and being patriotic to America, and this union and workers have grossly overstepped their boundaries. To be an American (even just living in America) there needs to be an understanding that this country and the constitution were based on Christian beliefs. Those beliefs were rooted in a sincere belief in God, and that is what made (and makes) our country great. The farther we deviate from the beliefs of our founding fathers the closer we come to destruction as a nation.
A disgrace indeed.
This what liberals call being “inclusive”. You’ll notice, however, that they had to exclude one party to include another. I don’t believe unions do very much for the common good anymore, I think it’s focused on union members and if you don’t happen to be one, too bad, so sorry. It’s a selfish and narrow-minded attitude done in the name of civil rights. Don’t be fooled, the fringes are turning on Average Joe America…no matter race or religion. If the Muslims want to take a holiday, fine. They can work on Memorial Day while everyone else is off. Then they can take their holiday while everyone else works. Acutally, this is how Jews and Christians handle the holidays at most large newspapers…although reporters rarely get holidays anyway…
I get so frustrated when I read these articles and I never put things as eloquently as Mrs Martin, but suffice to say that if Obama get elected he will trade our American flag for anything and everything he can so we can be ‘equal’ with the rest of the world. Last I check we are a chosen nation and yes people immigrate here (legally and illegally) because we are that nation. Of all types of Holidays to give up… really… really. America will be left to try and keep it’s head above water while being resigned to the same status as most 3rd world countries… but hey as long as Barack is motivating people to move… to bad it’s just in chaos.
