Nadal’s Good Luck Capris

Once again I saw some of the best tennis yesterday that I’ve ever seen.  I only wish I could have watched the whole match.  Most sports analyst believe it was the best match in Wimbledon history, and I couldn’t argue with that.  I wanted Federer to win, but I had already picked him to lose so I’m glad I wasn’t wrong.  Those guys amaze me each time they play.

Wall E

I’ll sum this movie up with one sentence: Waste of time!  But I had good company.  And at least I figured out what ‘Wall E’ stands for.

Disgraced National Anthem in Denver

I guess you’ve read the news about the jazz singer in Denver who chose to sing what is known as “the black national anthem” versus “The Star-Spangled Banner” at an annul State of the City address by the mayor.  Apparently the singer, Rene Marie, and one or two other people were the only ones who knew she wasn’t going to sing the Star-Spangled Banner as requested.  I would be just as angry as many of the residents of Denver over this.  I think the mayor wasn’t happy with it either.  There is no substitute for the National Anthem.  This struck a nerve with me since we will be celebrating Independence Day on the 4th.  I love this country and feel fortunate to have been born here.  I’ve never lived in another country, but many, many people who have lived other places have stressed to me how great it is here.
Damon, I know you’re moving, but if you read this I’m curious what you think?  And I hear you’re going to be serving our country in a very direct way soon.  And I’m sure this will fire Mark and Joseph up.

This weekend will not only be about the 4th, but also a time my entire family will be together in Haleyville.  Rozlynn doesn’t know what she’s gotten herself in to.

So far, I haven’t been surprised with Wimbledon this week.  Federer and Nadal are still going strong.  This could be the year for Nadal though…
