According to the NY Times, Sen. John McCain is set to meet with at least three potential running mates at a gathering this weekend at his Sedona ranch. We know Charlie Crist of Florida, Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts have accepted invitations. Some of McCain’s associates said that while these will not be formal interviews, the weekend will allow McCain to get to know a potential running mate in a social setting.
I really don’t know who he’ll choose, but I hope it’s Romney. I’ve been a fan of his for about a year now. He is extremely qualified to lead our great country. I’d like for him to position himself to have a good chance at the White House in 2012. What do you think?
Gary Jay, what are your thoughts on this? You’ve been around a while and have seen many elections. Whether you’re for or against McCain, do you think he can beat Clinton or Obama? Damon, you’re up on this. Will it happen?
In a follow up on the Wii Fit, I knocked 14 years off my fitness age tonight.
Thad, I’d like it to be Romney too but I think McCain is going to choose Crist or Jindal because they have pull in the South. McCain will need a lot of help in the South, Romney is too big of a force personality-wise for little Johnny’s ego to handle and Romney gives McCain states that he will do well in regardless.
Unfortunately, I think it doesn’t make much sense for McCain to pick Romney. His religion is also a huge downside because of how much anti-mormonism there is out there.
Glad you are getting younger (fitness age)
I really want McCain to pick Romney, too. It’s seriously the only hope i have for this country. At the beginning I hated Hillary, but now would choose her over Obama for the same reasons. The more research I do, the scarier Obama gets. And what’s really disturbing is this video which shows the control the media has over the politics. And especially the younger people that aren’t doing any of their own research and only listening to what the media tells them.

Romney is not a good choice…it’s not a matter of religion or anti-mormonism…it’s because his hair is to big. Big hair =’s big government…scares people. OK it’s the Mormon thing too…I mean you folks sacrifice small animals at midnight and stuff like that…if you were normal like us Catholics you would just drink during church and make sure your hands were soft..like a priests. I think he needs Huckabee to nail the south down…you know how clanish the baptists are.
I don’t think McCain will pick Romney. It’s sad, but I agree with Damon: Romney being Mormon will only hurt the ticket. Apparently the free-thinking left (and I mean media) are more biggoted than they let on…
