The media is making a big deal out of Obama calling a reporter ’sweetie’. And he actually apologized because he “has a bad habit of calling people sweetie”. Where I come from (and live), that word is used regularly. I use it; and older women say that to me. They also say ‘baby’ or ‘hun’ or ‘honey’. Once again, the media making something out of nothing. Imagine what they’d do if Pres. Bush said that.
Here are more details about this non-news story (that I’m writing about for some reason).
Thad how could you defend that bum? Nothing he does is innocent and everything has an ulterior motive. He only called her sweetie because he thought she was cute and everyone knows it.
This latest dust-up in politics is all part of the despereate need of the news media to fill the hours and hours of broadcast time. Also, its almost summer, and the start of the silly season in news reporting—you know UFO Sightings, mand -bites- dog stories.
Obama doesn’t need defending, he KNOWS he is in the media’s eye, he KNOWS his every move , word etc, etc is monitored—-hs lil “sweetie” remark, bought him a ton of media hype——I gotta give Obama credit, he has hired himself some good handlers and is smart enough to follow their directions and let them”Sell” obama to the nation.
This will be my 13th election in whihc to vote—I have watched the parties lil positioning gambits played over and over and over—the first one who gets to the end without his foot in his mouth wins. The sad part is, it really doesn’t matter who wins the office—-the entrenched body of bureaucracy runs the government.—-most people actually believe its the congress.
