Joe Namath was in the football complex on gameday and I was next in line (or rather the gaggle of girls) to get my picture with him before a very stern official ushered him out. He wasn't even anywhere near the recruits and, as I recall, he was there before they were even scheduled to arrive. Ah, Kirk! He has the best teeth! How I love him more than anything except Aubrey! Unfortunately, it was Lee Corso who I met and got the picture with, although you can see Kirk's back in the background. My friend Stacy and I were angling ourselves for Kirk, but Lee intercepted us. No, we didn't get in trouble for that. At the time, College Game Day was still an acceptable festival. I'm sure it won't be long before the NCAA outlaws that, too.

You're right, but the NCAA obviously doesn't think that way. Remember, they emmulate the ACLU.
Why couldn't you meet Joe Namath as a Belle? I'm curious about that. You met Kirk Herbstreit, right? I've seen that picture. Did you get UA in trouble over that??

I'm supposed to be doing laundry, but this comment really bristled me. I discovered a lot of useless recruiting rules when I was a Belle. Some of them are really good, but to ensure fair play, shouldn't the NCAA just choose to enforce the good ones (FOR EVERYBODY) instead of making up pointless ones? I missed my chance to throw myself at Joe Namath because of a stupid NCAA rule. I will never forgive them for it...
