Not many people had heard of this small college near Charlotte, NC before the NCAA tournament. But after their convincing win over Wisconsin tonight to put them in the Elite Eight (making their winning streak at 25), I’m a fan. They play fundamentally sound, which is real basketball to me.
Something else that impressed me was members of their board of trustees and alumni came up with enough money to send all students, who wanted to attend, to the tournament in Detroit. They paid for bus fares, hotel rooms, and tickets to the games. That’s impressive. I know they don’t have many students, but that’s still a bold move. I wonder how many students actually went–I would have.
I’m rooting for you Davidson, even though I don’t know your mascot yet.
I’ve never heard of Davidson, either. Aubrey was upset that the Davidson game was on and not the Texas game. Anyway, I posted my response to your Obama entry. I confess that I seem to have lost some of my sting. I think that happens when you spend most of your days conversing in baby talk.
