Tomorrow’s Job Market

Thought this was funny.

The Perfect Meal

I ate at The Cheesecake Factory last night and had the best food I’ve had there.  I got the Mesa Chicken.  They said it is new to the menu and I highly recommend it.  Then finished off the night with a piece of Snickers Bar Chuncks cheesecake.

Also saw the movie 10,000 B. C.  I’m pretty indifferent on it.  I wouldn’t see it again, and I was ready to leave during parts of it, but some will find it interesting.  All I can say is it’s alright.

I hated to see Davidson lose today to Kansas.  And I can’t believe Kansas made it to the final four.  They always seem to lose early in the tournament, so statistically they should have lost by now.  But, I was wrong.  Having all four number one seeds in the final four is a shocker.

Davidson Who?

Not many people had heard of this small college near Charlotte, NC before the NCAA tournament.  But after their convincing win over Wisconsin tonight to put them in the Elite Eight (making their winning streak at 25), I’m a fan.  They play fundamentally sound, which is real basketball to me.

Something else that impressed me was members of their board of trustees and alumni came up with enough money to send all students, who wanted to attend, to the tournament in Detroit.  They paid for bus fares, hotel rooms, and tickets to the games.  That’s impressive.  I know they don’t have many students, but that’s still a bold move.  I wonder how many students actually went–I would have.

I’m rooting for you Davidson, even though I don’t know your mascot yet.

Does This Infuriate You As Much As Me?

U.S. Based Revolution Muslim Website Spreading Messages of Hate

Read this article and look at all the pictures.  It seems this web site is operated right out of our own country.  And there are plenty of people who sympathize with these extremists.

Buyers Remorse and King LeBron

I made a big purchase last night for something I’ve wanted for a long time, but am experiencing a little ‘buyers remorse’ for it.  I don’t like it when I do that.  What is the best way to get over it?  I’ll be completely fine in a couple days.

On another subject, have you seen the new Vogue magazine with LeBron James on the cover?  Were any of you actually offended by it?  If you were, you’ve got to try to explain to me.  I didn’t think one thing was inappropriate when I saw it in the store a few days ago.  Many people are trying EXTREMELY hard to make something out of nothing.

P.S.  Just in case anyone was wondering, I do not read that magazine.

Terry Tate: Office Linebacker

As far as I know Terry Tate was developed by Reebok several years ago. Some friends and I loved watching the variety of episodes of ‘Triple T’ until he suddenly disappeared. Fortunately he’s been resurrected thanks to YouTube. I have a few of his videos here.

Mark, Dace, the pain train’s coming. You better check baseline.

My Better Is Better Than Your Better

Notice this video is smaller than the default size on YouTube.  Thanks for showing me how to change the size Shiffler.

How about that Davidson win today?  I loved it even though it hurt my brackets even more.

Obama: The Perfect Anti-American Presidential Hopeful

I really don’t know who is more evil, Clinton or Obama. But, for the time being I want to post a few comments about brother Barack.
The anti-American and anti-white sermons his preacher has ranted on have sparked a lot of attention recently. Of course, not as much as Don Imus’ remarks regarding some basketball players last year. His preacher, Jeremiah Wright Jr., has blamed the US for HIV, says the US is “controlled by rich white people”, and God should “damn America” for its sins against blacks. What makes this worse is his congregations seemed to love his inflammatory remarks by standing and cheering. I know the spirit moves people, but it doesn’t move people towards this type of hatred.

Saying Obama is the perfect anti-American candidate is going a little far, but he’s not the man we can afford to have in the white house when he’s been a member of that radical church for 20+ years. You can’t tell me he missed every Sunday when these extreme remarks towards our great country, God, and white people were preached.

So, one question; is this the kind of person we want as the Commander-in-Chief? Would you feel comfortable with him as President and meeting with leaders of terrorist-harboring countries?

I’m thankful my church doesn’t get involved in politics.

Cheyenne, please respond.

Louisville’s Swarming D

I saw two good basketball games tonight in the tournament–Oklahoma vs. St. Joseph’s, and Louisville vs. Boise State.  I was very impressed with Louisville’s defense.  They went crazy from the 3-point line too, but I don’t expect that to last throughout the tournament.  They will survive with their defense and non-stop press.

It was great to see Western Kentucky beat Drake today.  I actually picked that one on every one of my brackets, I think.  And most of them I picked San Diego to beat UConn, which happened.  I’m still in trouble since Vandy got beat today.  I had them doing well.

Cheyenne, as for my comments on Barack Obama, I’ll probably post them soon–you talked me in to it.  I just want to effectively articulate my strong feelings against him.  I saw John Edwards on David Letterman last night and he is another spineless man that would drastically weaken this country.  I’m thankful he’s out of the race.  At least his hair always looks good.

The Tournament Begins

I was one of the unfortunate people that had to work today instead of enjoying the weather and basketball.  Actually, I shouldn’t complain because I’m glad to have a good job.  I’ll have to remind myself of that tomorrow when the weather is perfect.  I have always had jobs that were off on Good Friday, until now.  A friend of mine and I used to have a tradition to play golf every Good Friday.  It’s a good thing we don’t play now because I’ve lost a lot of interest in the sport.

I’m still doing okay in my brackets, but USC let me down.  And I thought Kent State would upset UNLV, but I was wrong.  I think Aubrey is still doing pretty good in our ESPN Bamaembarrassment2 bracket.  I’m still hoping for San Diego to upset UConn.  Think it will happen?  I would have loved to have seen Belmont beat Duke, but it didn’t happen.  It was only a one point loss though.

Tomorrow the games begin in Birmingham so I’ll be headed to the BJCC as soon as possible to meet up with a steel vendor from work and Derek.
